“The cruise is such a great example of a company with a heart. Especially with spending cash. I am so honored to be a part of this company.” – Sandy Kelm
“To build any business, you have to be able to build a team. That comes from establishing and maintaining relationships. And relationships are all about heart.” – Sandy Kelm
The focus of today’s call is…What do you do with the people that have faded out and IMDs that fade away.
Make a connection with someone new or simply reconnect with others. Stay connected. Life happens to all of us. And it is easy for all of us to get distracted. Sometimes that leads to connections getting broken.
Reconnecting with some target IMDs that we want to talk about . These folks are in one of the following 3 categories…
1 – IMDS that just got started down in depth with you
Meet the new team members and connect with them.
Teach your teammates to do welcome calls. It is critical that they meet all IMDs within their hosting lineage. Especially since they have a vested interest in each new IMD, connecting with them is key. . Listen to new IMD names. Get introduced to new ones. Ask host to introduce you.
2 – Disconnects – pattern to fading. Faders or MIAs (missing in action). These folks are not getting on the conference calls anymore, or even team calls. They are not showing up at local and/or national events and may even quit taking your calls. Something is happening in their lives, you have to reconnect with them. Whether it is a lack of belief in themselves or the company. Self-doubt sets in. They are not utilizing the membership. However, they are easy to reconnect with.
3 – Loss of belief - Totally lost belief in themselves. And perhaps in you, their upline. Their feelings may be hurt or perhaps a misunderstanding. Invite them to convention and make time to sit down with them and figure out what’s going on. But prepare, they may be jaded. You may have to go to them. Get real and authentic and ask them what’s going on in their lives. You have to be willing to open yourself up so you can reclaim and reconnect with these people . Love them where they’re at. They can be encouraged so do your part to try to reconnect them with the team. Step out of your comfort zone and ask these people, is it me or the company that may have contributed to this? Be prepared to ask the tough questions.
Realize though, some folks are there just for the pizza and to socialize and not grow or build. Love them where they’re at.
“Building connections is a choice you make. It’s a deliberate decision. Get beyond yourself and try to put yourself in their shoes and mindset. Figure out what got them distracted.” – Sandy Kelm
John Maxwell - Everyone Communicates, Few Connect – valuing others, putting yourself last and others first. …
‘Personality Plus’ is a great book which characterizes different types of personalities in order to get you to have a better understanding of people. Pay it forward.
Dr. Gary Chapman’s book ‘Five Love Languages’…
When we love someone, we encourage them. Could be a misfire though. Could misread signals.
You need to make your meaning clear in both professional and social settings.
As John Maxwell says, “They don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
