Host – 2010 Eagle Winner/Double Platinum Sheila Steffes

Today, we’re going to continue with our series on ‘Building Team National with Heart’…

Angela

Our newest Eagle winners Bobby & Courtney Matheny – they truly exemplify what is means to put their hearts into TN.  Bobby even talked about leading with heart in his Eagle speech at Mid Winter here in January. Hearts makes a huge difference in achieving big success.

Hear the Matheny’s and other terrific leaders as they speak from their hearts in Kansas City. At convention is where TN will move from your head to your heart. You’ll hear superb leaders sharing great content  and experience the relationships that are built first hand.  Kansas City is a  great driving destination. So get  with your teammates and drive up together . On the road trip, you can listen to the Success Club audios, enjoy great fellowship and do training along with way.

Connecting with people is truly what it’s all about. One of my favorite leadership authors is John Maxwell.  His book, ‘Everyone Communicates, Few Connect’ underscores the importance of making those essential connections.

Guest speaker – Double Platinum James Keller

I love the topic of the Wednesday morning conference calls this month, Building Team National with Heart’. As I’ve heard it said many times. “You throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow”.  – author unknown.

I’m a firm believer of putting your heart and soul in everything you do . That will go far with people your business and in building your future.

John Maxwell, in his book,  ‘Everyone Communicates, Few Connect’  says ,

“I’m convinced more than ever, that good communication and leadership are all about connecting. You need to connect with others one on one, in groups, and with an audience. Through connections, your relationships become stronger ,your sense of community improves, your ability to create teamwork and your influence increases and your productivity skyrockets.”

The essence of business and relationships is connecting, not about making a membership sale. It’s about building a huge sales career and lifelong relationships with Team National.

Connecting is no more than relating to people and that’s no more than having a relationships and trust factor with others.

For those folks that you have not yet established a relationship with, it is crucial to connect and relate with that person as well.

The key is to find that common ground to work with. It’s like an interview process they are interviewing me, as I am them.

Ask questions about their interests and likes. This relationship building is more important than selling a membership.  Be likable. Have fun= connect=relate.

“Remember, these new folks are deciding to join you first, then Team National.” – James Keller

Find the problem and then help these folks help themselves in finding the solution.

“If a salesperson is more interested in their wants than mine, that turns me off. If they are more interested in making the sale than fulfilling my needs, I don’t like that.” – James Keller.

“Never give false information to make a deal. Be honest and up front. Be careful. As long as a person is committed to hard work, dedication, is teachable and has the desire, I say we can partner up with this and I can help you be successful here.” – James Keller

Don’t compromise your morals or values when dealing with people. Be you be authentic. Connect.

Zig Ziglar – ‘The Art of Closing Any Deal: How to Be a Master Closer in Everything You Do’

A  study in there reveals that the number one factor involved in making a difference in high producers and mediocre producers, the ingredient that truly separated these 2 groups was not a selling technique nor strategies or even industry knowledge,  it was trust.

People don’t buy based on what they see, hear or what you say

People do buy based on what they believe.

We’re passionate about TN, but not overbearing.

Coach Wooden – always believed in leading with heart and desire. His focus wasn’t about the fundamentals in basketball. It was the personal life in that person that he developed a true interest in.

Be the best you can be with the abilities you have. Work on you.  It’s okay to say you don’t know the answer, but you will find out the answers.
